On Friday, July 1, the 16th Tehran Auction hosted a wide range of artworks for art lovers and collectors of Iranian art as well as auctioneers. In this round of the auction, 120 pieces of artwork with different prices were presented to the buyers at Parsian Azadi Hotel, Tehran. Eventually, at the top of the list, “The Simorq Hunting” sold for 80.000.000.000 IRR. Considering the current economic situation, the success of the auction was notable.
Homa Taraji, a director of Tara contemporary art gallery remarked “the focus of this auction is on the contemporary and modern arts.”
Vahid Malek, manager of Tehran Art Center Galleries highlighted the market for these categories of art and underlined: “Contemporary art in Iran is just in its initial steps. The prices are not in conformity with the price of analogous artwork at foreign.”
